Kitchen Bot
This Kitchen Bot was created by students at Technical University of Munich. The idea of it was to resemble Rosie from The Jetsons. It is able to make a sanwich and popcorn as it can move around the kitchen efficiently. The robot is very random as it works, which makes it a fun and surprising time to watch and be surprised by what it is able to create. Although, a downfall for this robot would be that it is not necessarily fast, so it would not cut down on any preparing time.

Hearing about this robot at first, would make it seem like it would be a very successful creation. Although, hearing further about the details of the robot makes you think otherwise. First of all, the article explains about the robot's radom nature in the kitchen. It seems to me, that you can not order the robot to make a certain kind of sandwhich or meal. Instead, it just goes off to the kitchen to prepare anything that it comes up with. This results in very random food products such as a popcorn sandwhich, or many other variations of weird food combonations. With this issue, I believe that some sort of mechanism to allow the robot to differentiate between foods and have some idea of what foods taste well together. Also, the article states that the robot is not fast moving, and that preparing the meal yourself would probably be faster. This obviously would not be beneficial if you were in a hurry, although it would be fine if you had a lot of time on your hands. You would have to learn to give your robot orders more in advance to fixt this issue. Instead of going through all of these hassals, the user might consider preparing the meal theirself as not such a bad idea.
I feel that this concept of a robot could become very successful, although it is has not reached that level yet. Preparing meals that are very radom and possibly not great tasting is a big downfall, as well as not being able to be more time sufficient is not helping the cause. Once these few things are fixed, along with making other advancements, I can see this idea becoming very popular among people today.
