Lab Bot
The Mahoro robot was developed by Yaskawa and Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. The robot has already started to become a success as it has been put to use in some pharmaceutical companies and universities. The appeal to this product is its faster, more precise, and less emotional work habit. This combined with its highly complex and adaptable functions create a robot skilled enough to carry out tasks just as well as a human would be able to. Also, it's programming is simple to use for the average person to be able to figure out how to work it and create an assistant in the lab.
Capabilities of Lab Bot
This product has already seemed to become successful, as I would have thought after first hearing about it. All of the features put into this robot seem that they would come across as an advantage. People are always looking for an easier and quicker way of doing things, which are requirements that this robot fits perfectly. Along with the any good, there are always some downfalls, even if very minor. Like any other robot in the industry, this robot is taking up jobs during a time that there are people who are desperately searching for one to make a living. Something that is used for only an assistant, could change into becoming the employed lab director itself, accompanied by another robot lab assistant. I see that this is where the creation is probably headed towards, which means it is on a path leading to take away even more people's jobs.
Like any invention in the robot world, there is always room for improvement and more advancements. This one in particular seems like a very good idea, but I'm also weary that it could possibly evolve into a product used for more than just the lab assistant. With the many advantages such as time efficiency and wage cost, the boss of the whole company could opt for the easier route of changing all their workers to this new advanced form. Although this could possibly be more beneficial for them, it would definitely not be the most beneficial to everyone involved in this change and should be brought the attention of the creators and head of the lab companies to prevent this from happening.
